I started all this in the Lake District on school trips, but discovered Wales and the Highlands and never went back to the Lakes, so I don't know that pinnacle Ridge (will look on youtube). Clogwyn I have walked past and want to do, probably with my next PYB guide. The Glyders Bristly Ridge etc I have done many time on my own. Braich Ty du seen in the Cicerone guide and would like to do. Nantlle done and also up from Pennant. Regarding in the dark, I once came down the Black Mountains while walking Offa's Dyke and had to ring my B&B landlady to ask where am I? She came out and picked me up.

I don't think it matters what grade you do, it's whether you enjoy it, find it challenging, have fun and are meeting nice people 🙂 If you want to meet the ladies, take up dancing .. there are always more ladies then men there, you'll be in demand 😉

I always did a bit of scrambling on my own, but took it up more seriously with hired guides when I got to 65. There are 3 grades of scrambles. Grade 3 is the most difficult and is taken to be the same as a Moderate rock climb. Then the rock climbs go through Difficult, Severe, Very severe; and then into E numbers. Madmag, who began this year does E3! (See her pics). I seem to have got stuck at grade 3, and couldn't start a grade 2 on Thursday. However, it has got me into a new activity, and days with some nice guides. I had a chat with my female guide 🙂 on Thurs and Friday (24th & 25th Oct). But I don't think I will meet a partner that way, they are all 30/40 years younger than me! ☹

Is that what scrambling is?? I don't know much about hills / mountains living in Lincs. It's as flat as anything round here .. we class a speed bump as a hill 😀

I also got a video on a close zoom in, and sent it to two of the party in this shot. (Can't download the video here unfortunately).
