Smooze,
I wish I could show you the videos. Last year I had six animated items, which all kept working throughout the evening. A box 4x2x2 feet with a moving hairy hand trying to get our and growling; a 5 ft high freestanding zombie whose hands move with a ghostly Ho ho ho sound; then a ghost (tablecloth) comes out at them with a screech; the witch, who is rocking back and to on her broomstick cackling, and finally, when they press the doorbell, a 2ft wide spider drops on their head.
I got a good video of two girls who approached twice, running back screaming when the ghost came for them, but strangely, many of the children just walk quickly up to my door, and miss all the animated action.
Horace Bachelor's Infra draw method [of winning the pools, although never seemed to!] of "Keynsham Bristol." "Bing Sings", and do you remember "Smash the Record", supposedly playing the chosen record for the last time, with the reason why. Dan DARE Pilot of the Future was on at 6-45 every evening if I remember correctly. I never missed an episode for years. That was when the BBC was broadcasting the Home Service and the Light Programme. There was later the "Third Programme"; I asked my mother what it was, she said "It's not for the likes of us!" I started as a Technical Operator in the wartime(!) Control Room in 1961 in the sub basement of BH London.
BBCs answer to Pop was 2 hours on Sat pm!
reminds me of Billy Connolly's joke, Steve. 😀
I still have an R107 communications receiver as used by the Army in WWII. I did a lot of television set repairs when I was at school [the reason for only 1 A level!] PCF80, EF80, EL86, but I go back to radio AC5PENDD AND 4 pin triodes. That was when electronics was as dangerous as rock climbing! 350 volt HT lines. 😮 Wireless World, Practical Radio. Radio Luxembourg 208 metres. I once wrote to Radio Lux asking why the signal kept fading. I got a reply; it didn't refer to my question but enclosed a free "Dan Dare" badge!
Thanks Steve. What can I say about your comments with women listening!!:~ Might be an idea to put her on an OD profile and see if she gets chatted up!
She is actually sitting on the broomstick which is quite big (I bought her a new one) but you can't see it at this angle. I have been testing them all this week ready for the big day (or night) and forgot to take a side shot, but I will get some more photos on the night. The priority is the video. I have to confess that I didn't make it, she was bought, and quite expensive. But I did make the electronic lighting control and sound system. Lots of Geeks on youtube doing the same thing, showing off their animation systems, some quite impressive.
Thanks BJ, I've met a few in my time!
Beatrix; I saw a small one in a shop in Chester, by the time I went back to buy it, I had built a voice and light triggered by an infrared beam. She screams (so do the teenagers)and cackles. Each year I develop her, and other ghouls more. I wish you could see the video because she rocks back and forth on her broomstick while casting spells! I have several others, but have to admit that they don't always work all halloween evening; the electronic control is quite complex and the Lead Acid battery only lasts 2 hours. However, I have now got 6 of them. One year I had a grave on the lawn with a moving hand coming out of the soil with a voice "Let me out!" 😉
Do you have a new girlfriend colin? Dont recognize her but then all witches look alike 😋
