Cheers Paul. I am packing crampons and ice axe for the Lakes tomorrow, but they will probably stay in the car, when I arrive. Not sure on location yet....I will let the dog decide!

Well Done David,glad you enjoyed the steep snow,and your winter skill's,there'l be no stopping you now in the winter.
The ski lift in Glencoe,it may be an easy way up the hill, but it's an easy an quick way to get very cold.

liveit: Yes, something has clicked, although I will accept my aversion to exposure. I felt fit during all of the weekend, which included a group walk of 5 OD ers on Friday, also.
We were comfortable in a house and kept full of good food by KateB, which helps.
However, I feel today, a little like...wrenched. We did do self arrests which has provided some extrta forces to by body!

M3: The photo does make it look worse. It is steep and that would have been my problem a while back, but with crampons and ice axe, it's a different situation and even I felt in full control.
I only posted as I have come a long way with accepting the gradient, since joining OD. I felt safe on this ridge!!

At least! Feeling a bit sapped myself today and I thought I was as fit as ever Have to start a fitness regime again. Groan. Maybe its an age thing. Aye plenty round Kinlochleven. A few good hostelries in the area too. You got the bug now TrotOn?

Cheers deblyn. The sun was out when we left Onich yesterday morning, so different from the weekend.
We waited at the Glen Coe Ski hut for the rain and wind to drop on Saturday....and ended up walking for two hours to hit good snow and ice up top. That sapped us, having the walk up and down, plus the course. Great instructor, knew where to put us! Pity the ski lift was off!

Thanks liveit, enjoy the better weather, now we have left! There is a plan for a return next year! We may hire an instructor to do some harsh stuff and I have an area around Kinlochleven to visit, as our instructor pointed out plenty of walks that way.🙂
