We were lucky too, we cycled up near the Pennines Kitted out with special specs and were fortunate enough to have sufficient cloud breaks at the important time.
It was reassurring that the sun is still up there warming our earth and the moon still doing its job of creating our tides and keeping our beaches clean and marine life healthy.
Next full one in 2090... don't think I will be still cycling then.☹

Sorry about that Stephen. There was just a brief break in the clouds at home near the time of maximum eclipse. Very lucky!

This is a very good photo. Needless to say, we saw absolutely nothing on Skiddaw!
