Thanks for the kind remarks. There is no secret; it's just a case of getting out there and sometimes you get lucky. Walking alone makes bird photography much easier of course. You may have noticed that I have not (ever) submitted a picture of Whernside itself. Having been up it from all sides I have yet to find a view which makes it look impressive. Yesterday was very good for the valley views though, especially Deepdale.
