Hello T_S. I climbed Ill Bell via this ridge many years ago and seem to recall it was fine. I'd certainly consider doing it again. For maximum discomfort we could ascend via the edge of Rainsborrow Crag (further to the left) and descend this ridge 😀

This reminds me that I'm thinking of doing the north-east ridge of Ill Bell some time. (It's the ridge coming down from the peak towards the camera in this picture.) If anyone would like to join me for 1500 feet of sheer torture please let me know and I'll try to choose a date which suits.
