Southern fells "floating" above the fog, 12 December 2012

This is rather special. With the fog cascading down into Wythburn, it reminds me of a similar scene I witnessed many years ago when the fog was cascading over the Wastwater Screes. And there's certainly just as much snow here as there was in Scotland last weekend....

Hello Christine. It's from the Helvellyn ridge; a little to the south of the summit. The hill in the middle which the fog seems to be pouring around is Steel Fell. In the background from left to right are the Coniston Fells, Crinkle Crags and Bowfell.
