Yes I think thats about right, its best to carry both, micros on approach maybe, then crampons for later. A nice handy bit of kit though. Hope the snow continues with you and maybe we'll get some down here at some point.
Thanks for your comments Rourky, I found my microspikes perfect for this walk up Grisdeale Pike and Hopegill Head, but I wasn't happy with them when I was coming down Scafell on Wednesday as the gradiant was much steeper, so I've ordered some lightweight crampons to use too and I will carry both in my bag in future.
Nice pic catstycam, snow looks great and the dogs getting a run out too.
Just got a set of microspikes myself as yaktrax not so good and my crampons would be a little overkill, how did you find them.
