Not that Iv'e counted them, but there are 11 million bricks.
It is a very impressive structure, for those coming down for the South Downs weekend if you want to see it in your way down let me know. Won't be far out of your way.

Now that was when builders took pride in their work as they knew it would be around for a long long time,just look at it its a work of art great to see thanks John
