Cheers John.
Yeah it's pretty amazing there aren't more. Noticed quite a few of the shops were boarded up to prevent windows been broken etc.
Hi Brookey. Just been watching the local news. Thought you might be interested...60,000 attented. 22 taken to hospital and a lady lost sight in one eye after a banger was thrown. Police say event went well with less injuries than previous years!!!!
Yep John, as you say, it was pretty chaotic and it been a lovely, mild Saturday night, talking to a few of 'locals' reckoned it was the biggest attendance for a good few years.
Suprised you've not seen it yourself Terry. Not far from your neck of the woods<img src='theme/emoticon_smile.png' />
It's been a few years since I last went, sounds as chaotic as ever. Were there many fireworks being thrown around?
wow impressive indeed <img src='theme/emoticon_smile.png' />
Yep, it's very impressive and much bigger scale than I expected. You need to keep your wits about you as well! Flaming torches, firecrackers and burning barrels of tar all on narrow crowded streets!
Red Indians?, Smugglers? Armies? I was a little confused until I read a little brief history and I thought this summed it up
"...Imagine a head-on collision of Halloween and Mardi Gras and you're well on your way to picturing Bonfire Night, Lewes style!..." <img src='theme/emoticon_confused.png' /><img src='theme/emoticon_smile.png' /><img src='theme/emoticon_evilgrin.png' />
