This Munro is a big day, 32km, but we used mountain Bikes for a few km, until the track narrowed an started going uphill, at about 900m we came through the cloud.

When you get a temperature inversion it really can be stunning. I'll never forget climbing Ben Lui and when we got to about 2,500 ft up we came above the clouds, it was stunning. To the north we could see the Black Cuillins on Skye and to the south we could see Tinto Hill and the Merrick, I can still picture it, absolutely stunning.
JohnH: I had 4 days with my daughter staying at Ballater hostel, this was a rare day getting above the cloud.
