Does anyone know what this is, I've looked through what books I have and can't find a match.

Hi Gem1000, thanks, I've got a book titled "Scottish Wild Flowers" with 350 entries, Butterbur was the nearest that I could find but the picture in the book wasn't such a full flower.
It is great that the flowers are starting to come through though up here we're always that wee bit later.
Thanks again, John.
JohnH: looks like a variety of Butterbur. The big leaves belong with the flowers, the foliage in front looks like ground elder or something similar.
Lovely to see the spring flowers, I saw bluebells and cowslips yesterday but today it is snowing!
