I had tried to convince my companions that, for the sake of a little extra distance and ascent, it would be have better to go up Pen yr Helgi Du and then descend Y Braich, but we had done all the Carneddau 3000s that day and they opted for the steep descent from Bwlch Eryl Farchog (much harder on the knees! 😮)
