M1960: I grew up in Stockton-On-Tees and the Monument was always in view, although, like you, I've only been to it once.

H40: In your dreams. Even the highly skilled Stephen spilled his camera on the ascent....he was still shaking later that day....but I think it was to do with paying the Guide to help him up 😉

TrotOn: We met on the Lake District weekend in October 2017.🙂 I did the Captain Cook Memorial Walk (which passed the monument) in 1978 – I'll never forget it because one of those I found myself walking with had turned up to the event with two left boots,😮 but had somehow managed to get his right foot into one of them! Another walker suggested we should tell the first-aid people that he had fallen and twisted his ankle through 360 degrees!😂

TrotOn: I think next on your mountaineering adventures should be the In Pin then.
