Where was I?

A loch with lots of islands and an odd shaped mountain but where am I standing?

I like this take on an old favourite, although the Scots will probably never forgive me! 😮

M1960: Yes; well done. For bonus points can you name the well known climber and broadcaster who lived in the village below the hill?

Were you on Duncryne Hill?

top_spot (john): I was also thinking of Loch Lomand, but it's an unusual view of the Cobbler.

Loch Lomond and The Cobbler are right. Stockie Muir is the right direction but it's not there.

Is the mountain Ben Arthur (The Cobbler)?

Loch Maree does have a number of islands but it's not there.

It could be Loch Marree.
