You won't be disappointed with the rest of the islands, I was there twice this summer and I'll be back again come the spring.
When you visited Lewis for the festival did you get much time to cycle around?

Thanks for the information. The Hebridean Cycle Way looks a stunning route. I visited Lewis a few years ago for a celtic music festival and took my bike. Some wonderfully quiet roads and beautiful vistas. Hope to see more of the chain some day.

yes, in February 1941 the SS Politician ran ashore on Eriskay and there were over 260,000 bottles of whisky on board which the islanders put to good use!!! Compton MacKenzie based his book Whisky Galore on the incident as did the Ealing Studios who made a film of the same name

I think I have already read about this pub. Wasn't it named after a ship which sunk laden with Scotch whisky? 🙂

The Isle of Eriskay is in the Outer Hebrides and lies between Barra and South Uist.

I've never heard of the Isle of Eriskay. Where is it?
