jem1000: You certainly have and I haven't visited your way, except Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire. I have been fortunate to have had private tours, behind the scenes, of many National Trust properties throughout the UK and you gain so much knowledge this way.

TrotOn: I am fortunate to have some very lovely places not too far away but they don't beat the mountains for drama and beauty.

Once again, my type of favourite scenery...when I am not on mountains. I appreciate our rich architectural history.
