The Summit of Carn Dearg

This is a Munro in the Monadhliath mountains,north west of Newtonmore,and strangely enough had more snow lying on it than Cairngorm which is much higher.

M3: We saw a herd of about 50 dear before ascending this hill,and also evidence that white Hares enjoy sliding down steep snow slopes.
On other days we saw Ptarmigan,and on the first day i had 3 sightings of red Squirrels.

M3: Cathrine,i think that you'v summed it up there,but i also enjoy the wilderness and isolation,and the sightings of wildlife that roam these hills.

TrotOn: David and Bea i can't keep away from those snowy Scottish mountains,could be a while until i'am up there again, who knows.
I think we looked at the map 2 or 3 times on this day.

M3: Cathrine, i went with a club i belong too,there where 8 of us to start with, but only myself and a good friend of mine in the above photo could stay all week.

.....That's where Helvelly40 got to!! We lost touch with him a few weeks back in Buckden, Yorkshire Dales.He keeps wandering off.😉
