Aaaah Colin what a lovely story - it's special when something like that happens isn't it

It's the way they cling ot a mammal 100 times bigger (you!), with such friendlyness. I once picked up a bird in the Highlands [!!]. She was a meadow pipit which had beed stunned, presumable by a car. I held her in my hand as she came round, and trusted me from then on. Next day I took her back in my Landrover to the same spot for release, and it still let me stroke her.

It's a vole not a field mouse. It was a canon IXUS camera that actually loaded film!!! This picture is about 6 yrs old
