Sarah: Thanks for the link; I hadn't read that article. I notice that it was written in April 2007 which was exceptionally warm so the advance in Spring was particularly noticeable that year. No doubt that it's a general trend though. Now out to enjoy more of this early summer before it's gone!

This is blackthorn and it normally comes into flower about now. May blossom is hawthorn so we still have that to look forward to!
