We head up hill, north west out of Gunnerside, after a couple of miles we join the coast to coast and head west. We follow the coast to coast past Swinner Gill, and on to Keld. There are a couple of options, the easier is to follow the river to Muker. The second and more interesting is The Pennine Way, but much rougher path so slower. Walk is about 8.5 miles.

I'm waiting to see if my dad wants to see me as it's fathers day. If he doesn't ill def come.
MaMazzaMazza: Long time no see, I do hope that you can make it.
We're now doubtful because of late start. We need to be able to park somewhere! Might run into to you all somewhere in the Dale though.
cdcatharine.driverJohnH: Likewise. Hope you're all recovered from your knee op.
MaMazzaMazza: re my knee op, the first one is totally OK now but the second one still has a wee bit to go, but it's not holding me back, take care
Mazza: Hope you can join us, if you can will you travel by train to Ribblehead?
on 13/06/25 @ 8:07If Mary joins us, we could drive to Ribblehead and catch bus there.
catharine.driver: You could always park at Hawes and catch bus there, as there is little parking in Swaledale.
Hopefully we will have time for a drink in The Farmers Arms at Muker.
Helvellyn40: I'm not going to make it. Sorry. Meeting my Dad. He's 78 and I need to adapt to what he wants to do. Hopefully next time. Just numbed into Bruce in Saltaire and said I'd arrange a walk soon. Have fun tomorrow. Post some pictures.
MaMazzaMazza: You missed a good day yesterday, weather was good apart from strong winds on the moor top.
I will post some photos later this week, hope you can arrange a walk soon.
Helvellyn40: sorry I missed it. Your walks are always good. I need to sort out another one soon.
