Thanks Catwalker - enjoy the cycle ride, rather you than me, quicker but more strenuous 🚴

Hi Catwalker.
This was my first walk for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2003, with the happy memories that will never fade.It was my first solo.but at a more leisurely pace.Treasure each moment when you reach Robin Hood Bay,Wonder if you still get a free half pint at the Bay Hotel.

I've done it once before in 2012 and it was wonderful.
How would you feel about my well behaved and fit black lab coming? (Dependent of course on finding dog friendly accomodation).
Best, David

Yes still free drink at end - stayed at Robin Hoods Bay when I did The Lyke Wake - beautiful place! David - no problem for me if you bring dog, but as you say accommodation might be limited. Great to have someone who's done it before (has dog done it before too - just follow him) been told the first bit over lakes difficult to follow. Do you want the places I'm staying at? Will you sort your own accommodation? Sally

Sel: Monty hasnt done it but has done Suilven, Cul Mor and Ben Hope so he is a qualified mountain dog (as it were ). I am sure I still have the daily routes and I wouldnt say it's too difficult with good mapping software. I can give them to you whether I come or not. Yes please to places you're staying at ... I'll do a bit of research and see if it is feasible to bring the dog. It would be great.

C2C is on my to do list but I was thinking of backpacking it.

DaveW I'm a wimp, much rather be burden free When were you planning to do it?
David99 sounds like Monty would be a useful companion, has he got a saddle?? Still finalising places to stay, but likely Ennerdale, Rosthwaite, Patterdale, Shap, Kirkby Stephen, Keld, Reeth, Richmond, Ingleby Cross, Blakey, Grosmont. Will have maps and GPX and if the weather is good navigation should be okay, but I am good at getting lost!!

Been talking about it for a while, 'bout time I did something about it. I'm in and looking forward to it already, mildly of course, don't want to peak too early. David

David99 - Starting walk 26th May. First day St Bees to Ennerdale, although have mileage of 14 - did you get lost or is there a miscalculation somewhere?? Mileage per day a tad more than when you did it. Let me know how you get on, if you mention my name they could marry up the schedule. When I have confirmation of accommodation can post on here for those interested, and work out specific details from there.
'Over the 'next' hill - not another David!! Hope you can make it.
Sally

Sel: 2 days after my 70th birthday we only got lost once and that was because of trying to follow the wrong route! I will check the first day's distance but it is what it is. I will leave out the rest day when I speak to Packhorse.
