A walk above Dovestone Reservoir from Carrbrook
Sun 28th Jul 2019
A 10 mile, 5 hour walk with moors, ridges and reservoirs. Starting from Carrbrook, just off the B6175 from Stalybridge to Mossley, the route goes over to Higher Swineshaw Reservoir, along Ogden Clough up to Chew Hurdles, then all along the ridge above Dovestone Reservoir to Alphin Pike before descending to Intake Lane and following the Oldham Way and the lanes back to the start. A mixture of tracks and lanes with one possibly boggy bit at Chew Hurdles. A few stiles on the way but most are dog friendly. A drink afterwards in the Stamford Arms.
