Walking weekend from Hebden Bridge
Sat 25th May 2019
Two walks over the weekend starting from Hebden Bridge. Saturday's walk, around 9.5 miles, starts from St George's Square, the main square in Hebden Bridge. The route goes up to Old Town, across the moors to Limers Gate, down to Lumb Falls crossing Howarth Old Road, up the other side of Crimsworth Dean, down the track to Midgehole, up to Heptonstall and back down to Hebden. Lots to see on the way. For poetry lovers Lumb Falls was the inspiration for the six young men poem by Ted Hughes. Sylvia Plath is buried in Heptonstall cemetry. A drink in the community run Fox and Goose at the end.
