Oct Recci and route finding, went very well indeed

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰   on 25/11/18 @ 15:05 said:

We did indeed Blanka and since then I have done a few of my targets, so a mixture of routes that a few of us can share and then a few more top class routes along with the odd rope day, should make a great adventure. %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDE42%u2764%uFE0F For all of us.

Before we get to July I plan on checking many potential routes, to add to some favourites, so if anybody is interested in investigating these with me as I can be frequently found in these parts, then please message me %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDE42

Hope to be able to make it. I am fascinated by the slabs on Carnedd Y Filiast. Atlantic slab is 1000ft high and huge, with Mods running up its sides and a Diff up the middle, or a very lonely place to solo.

Hi Paul . Provided I'm fit enough and not injured then, depending on the weather forecast, I'd be interested if there's someone I can join who definitely doesn't want to tackle anything harder than grade-1 routes.

Hi Paul,
Thought I had already put my name down.
It was in my diary. Looking forwards to it again this July.

It’s going to be another great 5 Days Torb, knocking out some new routes and discovering the foggy ones in better visibility. Really looking fwd to this again. See you and the others there on the Rocks 🙃

My final recci will be on Sunday, looking at some approaches to thy wish list... if any souls are about at the Idwal 🤫

Welll a great walk with Ian, Lesley and Mike yesterday at Llangollen, then up to Idwal Cottage YHA to Chillax , then to find the options for approaching the Cliffs of Glyder Fach .. so while I was there managed to mix a few routes together and get a very closer look at the great scrambles on this mountain. started at the onset of Chasm Face, then main gulley, gulley Ridge, east gulley Ridge ,could smell the Shark Butress beneath shark and perch pinnacle, before practicing my down climbing, descending Gribin Ridge.. Fantastic rock good grip awesome views 🥰

A good Dance across the Valley of rocks, after my Exmoor MTB, back down to the Elementary Festival in Wallingford then back to Wales for some great moments with TalkingRocks and friends that converse 🥰

Greetings, I'm hoping to catch up with folk at least one of the days - but not staying at Idwal YHA this time. Please would you mind posting where most folk are gathering of an evening (if/when possible) just in case we can come along to check plans and join in...? Love to all just in case this doesn't work out!

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰   on 05/07/19 @ 7:19 said:

Hi Jo J, that’s cool hope you can join us on some of the shorter scrambles, will be a very flexible collection of Routes, sub routes to keep away from the main busy spots and the multi pitch queues. Looking fwd to being on the rocks again with some from last year and a few new faces..

Glyn2   on 05/07/19 @ 9:22 said:

Hi Ridgewalker - hoping to catch up with you somewhere on Thurs/Fri. I’ll be there about on my doggy walks and I’ll watch out for you. You’re usually easily spotted! I’ll wave from down below

That’s Cool mike, I know you have family over as well, maybe next year, we will have fun and laughter as we are one with the rock faces 🙃

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰   on 06/07/19 @ 20:38 said:

Rhian it’s just the way I am when I try to blend in with the rocks, will look out for you and hopefully time for a catch-up

The great moments come when we Natural Scramblers/Free-Climbers mingle with the pitch climbers on shared routes and learn techniques from each other , lets hope we can entice a few others to mingle with us 🥰 the Sunrise awaits my Soul

M1960   on 07/07/19 @ 19:33 said:

Is anyone interested in an easy scramble (grade 1, no harder) and/or a high-level walk on Friday 12th (and maybe Thursday 11th as well)?

M1960   on 08/07/19 @ 0:28 said:

Re my question above, if you're interested then please respond to the same question on the 'Nth. Wales – Carneddau Southern Ridge Circuit' invite. Mark

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰   on 08/07/19 @ 7:49 said:

Hello All, last preparations before I go offline.
My contact mobile is under extra info when logged on. Signal at Ogwen is not good.
Each day about 9ish we could be found at kiosk at Ogwen if not already out on the rocks, will leave a note on my Van. Also will leave notes at reception of YHA ..We usually decide the days routes the evening before. However there is a plan to be inclusive on a few lower grade scrambles on Y Gribin etc on thurs or fri or Sat before we extreme types hit the Cliffs of Glyder Fach . Relating to marks Question, Seniors Ridge, Y Gribin are options.

M1960   on 08/07/19 @ 13:54 said:

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰: Hi Paul - are you saying that there is definitely someone who will be doing nothing harder than grade 1 on Thursday? It looks like I've got Friday sorted. Thanks, Mark

Bigfoot   on 08/07/19 @ 15:41 said:

Hi Paul I plan to arrive late Thursday or early Friday so will be around for Friday activities, planning to camp at Gwern Gof Uchaf the camp site by little tryfan, Billy, ps will be bringing mtb for a ride on Monday if you are still around.

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰   on 08/07/19 @ 20:44 said:

Hi Mark, yes we could do one of the Routes, that leads to the others and those that wish to peel off onto the normal track can walk back down Devils Kitchen or Y-Garn, while we tackle the more difficult Scrambles.
Billy that’s a great idea MTB on Monday all we need now is a Kayak 😎 once I leave home I am off line only mobile-txt 👣🧗🏻‍♂️🚵🏼‍♂️

M1960   on 08/07/19 @ 22:27 said:

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰: That sounds good Paul, thank you - depending on the weather, I'd be very happy to do any grade 1 route on Thursday that fits in with your plans. What will you do if the weather is poor? I've done Y Gribin in descent (albeit many years ago). I've never done Seniors' Ridge but that (approaching via Seniors' Gully) should be fine. Other grade 1 scrambles I've done in the area are Tryfan's North and South Ridges and Bristly Ridge (via Sinister Gully). I haven't done (but would be happy to try) Little and North Gullies on the East Face of Tryfan, the Sheep Walk on Y Garn, and the False Gribin.

M1960   on 08/07/19 @ 22:29 said:

Ridgewalker Dancing again 🥰: cont'd ... I'll probably see you at the Ogwen kiosk at 9am on Thursday – if I'm not there punctually, then please don't wait.

Hi Folks, planning to travel up in the early hours of Saturday morning & so will try to be at Idwal cottage at 9, but might be 9.30...
Mainly thinking of multipitch mountain rock climbs (Idwal Slabs, East Face of Tryfan etc.) with at least two non OD climbers, happy to mix it up though
