I'm walking in company Pen-y-ghent from Helwith Bridge Inn on Saturday November 22nd. with four current and past OD members.
Not guaranteeing the same weather as last time!
Departing 10:am from the pub car park. Free car parking, also available across the road, (height barrier.)
Table available at 5:30pm in the pub, please indicate if you wish to eat. First come, for the meal, places limited. Camper vans may stay FOC at the pub.
If arriving by train at Horton, let attendees know, a lift to the start may be possible.
Usual stuff about personal gear for winter walking, clothes/food/head torch.
Update:- All meal places full but may be possible for others to make their own arrangements with the pub..

I have reserved the bunkhouse for Friday night. It is likely to be full on the Saturday so will probably drive over to a friend's near Leeds after the meal
I'll also have the meal, Nick, thanks.
KTKath_TI will also have the meal, thanks.
Yes please to the meal Salty 🙂
clclarelyYes up for the meal also.
Please add me and Peter on for the meal if space allows
on 20/10/25 @ 18:12Meal places full before or after requests from Peter and from me ?

SMSaltyMcSaltfaceThe Helwith Bridge Inn phoned me today to say that a place in the bunkhouse was now available for Saturday night so I could now do a short walk on Sunday if anyone is planning to do one. Does anyone know if it is possible to get tea or coffee/ breakfast there or anywhere nearby in the morning or will I need to take a camping stove?
That's good about the accommodation Dave. I don't know about breakfast. You'll need to ask the Helwith Bridge Inn about the food and equipment you need to take. I think you need to take bedding.
KTKath_TI'll mention the Sunday walk on the WhatsApp group.
Thanks Kath. Yes I can see you need to take bedding, Have just found some reviews on Trip Advisor which clarify matters
Not able to do the meal but looking forward to the walk.
MaMazzaMazza: It'll be good to see you again.
KTKath_TMazza: long time no see, it will be great to have a catch up.
Kath_T: looking forward to it. Been a while.
on 29/10/25 @ 0:06Helvellyn40: looking forward to it. Been cycling a bit recently so will be nice to walk and catch up. Heard you had a good time in scotland
MaMazzaCan't come unfortunately. Would have been nice to catch up with people but bad timing fior me unfortunately as I've already arranged to be both coordinator and host on a club meet that weekend.
LLangdale20I am driving up to the Helwith Bridge Inn on Friday is anyone else going to be there the night before the walk?
David O: Hi David. Gill and I plan to be there, in the pub CP, sometime 6pm onwards on Friday. Call in for a coffee? - Nick Fiat moho reg R169NFG
SMSaltyMcSaltfaceOK thank you
Hi All. The weather is looking reasonable for Saturday, hopefully no ice underfoot, some rain/wind/poor vis in the mix. I know experienced hill walkers will have all the appropriate gear and sustenance. Gill and I are packing head torches but with a prompt start, don't plan to need them- 🙂
SMSaltyMcSaltfaceArrived at Hotel Paradiso
David O: Us too. Cooking tea, parked in CP parallel to road. Call in-
