Lake District coastal break
A number of us from Outdoor Duo plus some former members are having another break on the coast of Cumbria from Sunday 5th July to Thursday 9th July. It would be lovely if other people would like to join us for a day or all of the days.
The break will be centred around Ravenglass which is a coastal village in the Lake District. It is on the estuary of 3 rivers and the surrounding area is very picturesque. There are coastal walks and the Lake District fells are close by.
There are also beaches, Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway, a railway museum, Muncaster Castle, gardens and bird of prey centre, the ruins of a Roman Bath House, other coastal villages/towns and good places to eat.
Some of us are camping at Ravenglass Camping and Caravanning Club site but there are other campsites not too far away as well as B&Bs and holiday rentals.
Finally, for anyone that doesn't drive or would prefer not to, Ravenglass as well as some of the other coastal villages/towns are on the Cumbrian coastal railway line.

Thank you very much for organising such great walks and activities. It was great to meet others from OD. Thanks to the other organisers too - you know who you are!
crag1: You're welcome to join us and I've sent you a private chat message about the itinerary, accommodation etc.
Still debating whether to go. New to doing these types of things alone. I'd be travelling up from Bristol so quite a way. Is there a confirmed itinerary ye?
Kath_T: looking forward to seeing you and all the outdoor duo's on the Monday and hopefully the Tuesday too🥳 x
Ber123: Hi Beryl, looking forward to seeing you from 7th.
Baz111: Hi, you'll be welcome. There'll be a walk on 6th (Muncaster Fell), 7th (western Lake District fells), 8th (a coastal walk) and possibly 9th (western Lake District fells) so if you send me a private chat message to let me know which you might be interested in, I'll send you some more details.
Kath_T: Hoping to join you on this fell walk 😀
Hi Kath. Sorry I made a mistake. I thought the date had passed, thinking it was the 5th of June. I would like to join the walk in Cumbria on 5th of July. Can you please send me more details of the location where the walk is to take place. Thank you.
I missed this one. I hope to join in on the next walk if possible. Thank you
Helvellyn40: Thanks Paul.
Kath_T: Iv booked 3 nights camping at Eskdale campsite, so will join you for at least one walk, and meal out, i will think about doing a hill walk if any others are interested.
There are currently 9 definites and at least 7 possibles for this trip. All are welcome and you can join the trip at any point up to and including the July week as long as we have enough notice that you're coming. The trip will be organised through our WhatsApp group.
Ideas for the trip so far include Muncaster Fell, the steam train, Muncaster Castle, Whitehaven/St Bees coastal walk, BBQ, meals out, music evening and quiz. The Muncaster Fell walk will be on Monday 6th.
There are possibly around 8 people going so far either for a day, a few days or all of the days. It's very flexible and of course people can come before or stay on after these dates.
On the Tuesday or Wednesday we're planning to do Muncaster Fell so that might be a good day to come if you can only come for a day but of course it would be great if people can stay for longer.
