Exmoor National Park - Walking Getaway 12th-14th December ⛰️
by Fancy a December walking retreat?
Perfect - it’s like a romantic winter getaway… just with more mud, more hills, and significantly fewer arguments about fairy lights.
If you need an excuse to escape the Christmas chaos (or your family), this is it! Come join a bunch of lovely Outdoor Duo folks for a weekend of fresh air, good company, cosy evenings, and enough steps to justify at least five mince pies afterwards. Maybe six. Let’s not limit ourselves.
You might even meet someone special.
And if you don’t, you’ll still go home with great views, rosy cheeks, and calves of steel. Which is basically the same thing, right?
This is hosted by our friends at The Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster, Exmoor from 12–14 December.
You’ll get:
• Two nights at the Yarn Market Hotel
• Breakfasts and packed lunches
• A proper Christmas dinner
• Guided walks for all levels
• Transport to the start of the routes
• And a quiz - so yes, you can claim this is “educational”
If you book, please tell the lovely Yarn Market team that you heard about it through “Outdoor Duo.”
It helps them know you’re one of ours and not someone who wandered in looking for wool.
The fine print:
Price £220 per person or £180 per person if you share a room (couples or friends)
Tel: 01643821425
Email: hotel@yarnmarkethotel.co.uk
Pack your boots, your warmest layers, and your best “I swear I’m outdoorsy” smile.

Thanks all, will post a few more of their walks when they come up. Happy holidays! 🌿🎄🎁☃️
Co-Admin: sounds like a great idea…. 👍🏻😄. I can’t make 12th weekend …. Sadly
Yes it does look interesting, unfortunately I can't make this one but hopefully there'll be more in 2026.
Philtheetiler: Hi Phil,
Yes, it’s a genuine invitation. We’re doing a little push to grow the Outdoor Duo community by linking up with local walking groups and outdoor clubs. Just trying to create more opportunities for members to meet like-minded people.
Hope that helps!
Jess from Outdoor Duo Support
Is this a genuine invitation from an OD member or just an advertisement?
It does sound good but unfortunately too far from Cumbria especially at this time of year.
Sounds like a wonderful break but unfortunately I'm already busy that Friday!
