Dressed for cold weather with spikes, balacava, duvet and dachstein mitts packed in the sack what a shock it was to join up with Dave, Barry, Alison, Jen, Nev, Billy and Meg under a blue sky with the sun shining brightly and no wind. Could this really be happening? After overheating on the way up stickle ghyll, it finally hit me that yes we really were in the Lake District, the weather was indeed glorious, and we were going to have a cracking day out on the hills.
Strolling across pavey ark, Harrison stickle and pike of stickle was a real treat. The views were superb. It was nice to stop, sit down and just enjoy it. By the time we got round to bow fell time was getting on so we popped down the band to the odg to finish the day.
Dave, Billy and I stayed over and on Sunday Dave and I popped up pike of blisco armed with sunglasses and sun screen, and no duvet etc, but the lakes fooled us again as it was a bit nippy and misty on the top.
Great 2 days on the hills.
