Thanks to Fiona, Sue and Hannes for joining me on this walk, plus the doggies Cassie and Alfie.
The wind up on kinder was bitter which took it out of us a bit. The beauty of this walk though is the changing views on your left as you work your way round the edge. Stunning. We started the edge itself from grindslow knoll and finished there too.
We did a little shortcut across to the northern edge from kinder downfall and got to see a mountain hare still looking a bit too white. We also spotted a red grouse but as usual both headed off before you could get your camera out.
We were out for about 8 hours 40 and covered just over 24 km and 3100 feet of ascent before landing in the nags head for some well earned refreshment. Alfie looked like he could do it all again, but not the rest of us!
The kinder round has got to be my favourite long walk in the peak. I shall do it again next year.
