Hi Len,Ah i remember it well(as in the song)It has to be the weekend around the Saturday before July 20th as i was staying at Little Langdale at that time.
Ducks floating between the Tents at Coniston Hall Campsite, with an evening BBQ by your Caravan sheltering underneath plastic sheeting.Sunday was no better, but severe gales prevented us going over Dow Crag,oh yes it was still raining🙂

The first Great Gable weekend I went on was 2012. Not sure if it was the first or the second. Some of us went up Castle Crag in the rain on the Friday and we did Glaramara on the Saturday. Minty was there, which might help you work out if that was the first one 🙂

Hi TC the Coniston wet weekend was in 2011,remember gathered outside the Coniston Tourist information Centre, torrential rain and wondered what on earth were we doing here, but as usual with OD gang it was an amazing time, especially as hardly anyone new anyone.but firm friends. Bronte Wanderer`s first meet, what a kind and generous Man.

Thanks Keith, Tina, Ruth.
Yes Keith, that Coniston weekend still sticks in my mind for so many reasons. One of them of course a photo of you in mid air, having been assisted by some to gross a rain swollen stream.
I also remember setting a very specific meeting time of something like 0835 . Of course I was a few minutes late and to their credit everyone was standing ready to go and in good humour.... everyone apart from a couple of ladies who were in their onesies under a brolly watching the ducks in a puddle outside their tent.

I wasn't around in 2011. Ruth, you were on the 2012 Great Gable weekend as well. I remember you doing that scrambly bit on Glaramara on the Saturday.

Yes Len,it was Hen Beck, with Glen trying to give me a push to gain extra momentum ,but alas he was a foot Taller and pushed me in a downward direction, hence hitting the far Bank, falling backwards into the heavily swollen beck, but a really good and a very happy weekend, where we we wet inside and out🙂
