Jo and Babs cycle blog

by UJ Ultreia (Jo & Alan)

Due to unforeseen circumstances myself and Babs are now going across the country on our own, with no planned route. So we have decided to give you a day by day account of our adventures.
We are now in Scarborough armed with a map we have just bought, and a phone hoping to tell us which way to go. Tomorrow we are hoping to get to Hemsley in 52 miles. Watch this space.

Well we cycled from East to West without a hitch, trying to catch a train from Preston to Liverpool however was much more challenging! Finally arrived home an hour and a half late, I could have cycled from Preston quicker!!!

Rourky 07/07/2012 17:52

Ultreia (Jo & Alan) 07/07/2012 17:34

Well our last day and the sun shone for us. We met up with a couple of friends and cycled to Walney Island so we did another sea to sea. According to the cycle computer we have covered 230 miles through country roads and admittedly getting lost now and again. But what an experience we have had and great time despite the pain in our butts lol. The world is our oyster now after this. Bring it on.

Day 4 :- woke up to torrential rain and cycle for 4 hours, going up and down the moors and peaks. My computer got that wet it stopped working but I would say we did at least 50 miles.
What a sight to see the sea at Carnforth we felt emotional as we had managed with A to Z across the country on our own. One day left to finish our epic journey.

Ultreia (Jo & Alan) 04/07/2012 22:25

Day two of our cycling. We have managed 39 miles today of undulating hills (I know what that means now) and it took us all day. All went well till we hit the A1 and we was getting beeped at constantly. Couldn't get off there quick enough as worried for our safety and wasn't sure if we should have been in it. Finished off in a lovely B&B which should be better than last nights YHA. Thelma and Louise (I wish)
