Help with River Tweed please
Calling on our northern members and their local knowledge. - I am planning to kayak-camp down the River Tweed with my mates over four days. Does anyone knows a safe place to leave a car near the launch in Peebles and another near the take-out in Spittal? Thanks.

Have you checked the levels? Its been very dry up here at Loch Ness with he Lock the lowest I've seen it in 8 years of coming here. It did rise some what last week but its dropping again.
@Doug: we need parking at start and finish, not halfway down the river
@diverundski: I pm'ed you but you obviously didn't see it due to the annoying lack of mail notifications. I hope you see this message and check your inbox
Melrose car park. I left mine there for a week when I did St Cuthberts way and it's free.
plenty places that you can leave a car in peebles (where I am) PM me
Flat cap (Mike): Hi Mike just a thought, but when we used to wild camp in the Welsh hills years ago we would often leave our cars at farms or campsites that we had contacted beforehand. We paid a small fee to them for overnight paking security. If there are farms or campsites near your start and finish points they might be worth a look. Hope the suggestion might be of some use. 👍
@Dale: thanks, I know the parking area at Sandstell Point frobut I wouldn't want to leave a car there any longer than necessary. the whole surrounding looks a bit dodgy
I know there are free beach car parks at Spittal but I’m not close enough to know if they are safe enough overnight or over a few days.
