Winter walking
As we approach the time of year I get out the most I wondered who else may be interested in winter mountain walking.
It would be good to get a feel for those that are experienced already and those who would like to gain experience too.
The walking I have in mind would typically be in N Wales, Lakes and Scotland and COULD require Winter boots , Crampons and walking axe.

Count me in Trekie - not used my crampons yet but they are itching to get out!!!🙂
I will be in Aviemore W/C 15th Feb, with my 2 daughters, doing some winter walking and may be snowboarding, if anyone is in the area at this time happy to join up.
I'd be keen to join folk.
I'm not so experienced at winter walking. I have had a couple of weeks in Scotland only (did use crampons) but i'm fit and learn quickly and am no trouble!
Would love the experience.

Been hankering to do some serious winter walking since last year, but so far the gear is gathering dust!!! Not sure whether I could manage the distance up to Fort William from here for a weekend though, but if Scotland's where the snow is...............?🙂

A friend and I would be interested in joining an experienced winter walker(s) in either N. Wales or ideally The Lakes. We've just purchased crampons and an ice axe and can't wait for some wintry conditions to get out there and use them 🙂 We've both recently been up onto High Street via Riggindale in The Lakes and agreed we'll return when it's covered in snow.
We possibly have room for 2 more for 20-22 February.
We will be based just South of Fort William in comfortable (but not expensive) accommodation.

Would love to do some winter walking but as discussed is not easy for me to get away. I do have some time off between Xmas and New Year but don't suppose there will be any snow around then. Hope you get something sorted.
I love winter walking, but spending most of my outdoor time in the Lakes, I've found the opportunities for proper winter conditions have been very limited recently. Twenty to thirty years ago, you got reliable snow and ice cover every winter, and I used to solo Grade I and II routes regularly eg. Central Gully on Great End and the east wall on Helvellyn above Red Tarn. Needless to say, I used an ice axe (or two) and crampons. I will probably be in Keswick over Christmas and/or New Year if anyone wants to do any winter walking, with or without ice axe/crampons, depending on conditions.
Will be in or near Lakes 27th December onwards with crampons and ice axe if conditions require! Also might manage a Scotland weekend in Jan/Feb...if anyone is going that way
Will be in Lakes second week of December.It will be great to feel the crunch of spikes getting to grips with frozen snow🙂
