Group size/safety /enjoyment.....part 3

After Marks successful Lakes bash, Ive been giving things a bit of a whir around my head about the group size chestnut.

Ok my thoughts are

!. The main walk needs to be advertised well in advance so that people can maketheir mind up as to join it or not.

2. If any of us think that we would like to arange an alternative walk...great...but the walk organiser needs to be told well in advance and the route and contact tel no passd over.

3.If during the organised walk we feel the pace is a bit slow or we have had an energy surge
(because the pub is closing) then we again need to be repectful of the walk leader and tell them what we intend to do.

4. MEET UP FOR A FEW BEERS AFTERWA

Seems all the evidence is piling up against you CW โ˜น And I'm just an innocent Mountain Man in all of this ๐Ÿ˜€ xx

Yes hope to offer a selection of walks on Saturday but Sunday we will all have the same desination for the same time although there may be options as a follow on.
Might ask my good lady to bring her dog, there wouldn't be anybody going astray then.๐Ÿ™‚

You up to your old tricks Cat, disappearing on walks๐Ÿ™‚

Agree with you Liz, I see that Trekkie has several walk leaders lined up for next weekend.

Ladyeliza (Liz) 31/10/2013 11:25

Yes of course MM ๐Ÿ™‚I can lead you up a mountain might not get down again though ๐Ÿ˜€ I seem to remember it was Cat who was flying down the mountains leaving us behind. ๐Ÿ™‚

My thoughts on group sizes if we have a large group with a range of abilities perhaps we could have one or two more volunteers leading different walks for different abilities and everyone can choose whichever walk they prefer.

How it going Tel....dancing around our rucksacks......yer I recon we could do that...lol...catch you at xmas pal

Mountain Man 30/10/2013 22:40

Er, that's not quite how I remember it CW ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Seriously, I was very conscious of what we'd done but I hope the group understood our predicament, stood on the summit of Catbells whilst everyone else enjoyed a picnic just outside Keswick ๐Ÿ˜€ And we did have a very competent mountain person in our midst - Liz ๐Ÿ˜ˆ
