Sounds good to me, dont mind the travelling as its all part of the adventure/experience. Hit Winter Park in the US a few years ago, great skiing, Canada is very similar I hear. Will ask a few peeps on the lakes trip and on the xmas bash wk end if theyre up for it.

I'll have to check my term dates on that one. Easter is always an option but location due to snow conditions would be a factor. Will have a think.

I'm taking my sons skiing over Feb half term, so if we decided to go for it, it would probably have to be around New Year.

davem welcome to site, its a cracker. Would be well up for a ski trip, so would a few others I'm sure.
