I've ordered the Hot Cross Buns and Easter eggs! I'm off to Somerset for some training then on to the Cumbrian Way!! See you there <img src='theme/emoticon_smile.png' />
Corrie, Rourkys walks were lovely and good fun, you did miss a treat, see you at Easter.
Wow Milesbehind do you think we past each other??? Did you see me with my two black labs? They used to be Met Police sniffer dogs so I went back on Sunday and told them to find my ring!!! Perhaps if it had been loaded with illegal substances they might have found it!!! I will try your idea Marty, I have plenty of smaller hills around me at home so will try to get a routine in. Rourky's walk sounds like it was brilliant, I'm sorry to have missed it.
Try finding a small hill and do some speed walking, its good for my muscles, it could be good for you too........ try it
You can do it Jopo you were heading up the front whilst I was constantly rear guard on Rourkys Welsh Peaks. I will give it my bestest and I am sure the team spirit will keep the troop together.
Omg walking week before and that's all. Not got time 4 training.
Yep Corrie I have been doing a bit but not upto 15 miles yet and hope to get a couple more in. Rourky walked me hooves off so it was a test!! I will keep going at it. Sorry to hear about the ring. PP
I've just been away training for this event and feel thoroughly exhausted...and that was only two days of 15 miles!!! I also managed to loose my wonderful ring on top of Dale Head so if anyone is up there and finds a silver ring with Viking writing on it....! Anyone else training for this event?
I have booked into Denton Hs ymca see you all Friday ๐
Hi Corrie, have done my homework, and will be camping along the way .I"m used to carrying my own gear so thats no problem.See you at Ulverston on Good Friday !
HOT X Buns and Easter Eggs available for all walkers!!!
I have sent out all the details to everyone who has expressed an interest in this. Please book the hotel soon as they will only hold the places until February. Now all I need to do is get in some training!!!! Only 15 weeks to go!!! ๐
Thanks Davem, thats great there will be a camping group! I have got a hotel in Keswick and will send all details out tomorrow to anyone who has expressed an interest. I will mention your camping option in case anyone has missed this.
I got it wrong !!!!! Were skiing in Feb half term, I can make the walk as long as I can persuade the x to have the kids for the 5 days.
So yep the whole 9 metres...
Hi Corrie, I will probably camp rather than going back and to in a coach if thats ok.If anyone else is interested in the canvas option drop me a line.
We could either carry the grear or do a shuttle run in a few cars in the mornings.
Hi Globetrotter, thanks for your comments and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I am just in the process of sorting accommodation and will send out details very shortly and will keep you in the loop. No problem with you needing to leave early as we have found that the only accommodation we can get in the Lakes over Easter is in one hotel/B&B in Keswick for the 4/5 nights and coach out to each days section of the walk. Leaving a day early will just mean you miss the last bit but you could always come back and do that later!
Globetrotter - the item haas been added to the "Invitations" section. Take a look there. You can express interested an mail the organiser there.
Hi
I've only just seen this and wondered if is is all fully booked or if there are spaces.I have not done any long distance paths so is it a good one to start on. I have to be back to work on the 26th so is it possible to do part of it?
I'm happy with YH, B&B and tent. Definately interested let me know how much transport is costing.
Hi Corrie, I won't be able to join you.
Since I think we have an extra days holiday for the Royal wedding I am going to take a longer break and go somewhere for the whole Easter week.
I did the Cumbria way a few years ago with the Kids and really enjoyed it. I am sure you will have a fantastic time.
So far 20 people have expressed an interest in this, so I do hope everyone is still keen. Iรขโฌโขve had trouble getting accommodation sorted, as hotels only want bookings for more than one night at Easter. I have therefore arranged a coach to pick us up in the evening and drop us back at the start the next day. This way we can stay in one hotel, probably in Keswick, and there is no need to carry kit, just our day sacks. I will send details by email to all those who expressed an interest.
Awesome!
So pleased so many are of a like mind!! There seems to be about 12 of us so far. Had a couple of email queries so here are a few thoughts...
I am planning to walk on Good Friday (22nd April) through to Tuesday April 26th. It is the May bank holiday the following weekend.
Up to you if you want to carry your kit, camp or do the comfy option and B&B it. I will put the overnight stops onto the site shortly. Sherpa Van is an option for anyone who is interested in using their services to carry bags, you can also book accommodation through their site.
More details shortly! Good luck with Glyndwr Way Mountainbreeze!!
Have expressed interest in this too via the 'invitations' section :0)
Me too.......kev

hmmmmmmmm this sounds interesting, could be up for this if Im back from Germany ๐
This is looking like a plan!! No worries Liz with Sherpa, they cover the trail and so might use them too! Hay Hikerprincess I'm impressed! I wanted to do C2C over the weekends starting this month but I'm beginning to think its going to cost a fortune in taxis as am certainly struggling to get back to my car in the early stages. perhaps I should join you Liz and put it down for next year
i've already booked my accommadation for the cumbria way at the end of may!! yep im hooked on long distance paths too! done the C2C, dales way, viking way ,northumberland coastal path & did the west highland way this year...pembrokshire coastal path on my list amongst many more!!
Sounds interesting, I could be up for that ๐
Sounds good hopefully I can join you. ๐
Great news! I have the guide book and maps along with details of places to stay along the way which includes campsites. If anyone is interested in joining for just a day I will put details on the site shortly as to what days we will do each section.
