A little Poem
I found this and changed my outlook on cleaning before friends called around. Now hopefully they come to listen to my adventures and not a clean house!
Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must,
but wouldn't it be better, to paint a picture or write a letter,
bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must but the worlds out there with the sun in your eyes and wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

there is the "law of the conservation of dust".
You can never get rid of it, just move it to a different place, so what's the use ?
Also if you let it build up sufficiently it actually provides a protective barrier to furniture.
When you need to use the furniture simply roll up the dust!
