We travelled in Turkey years ago, admitedly using busses. Very hot, remarkably civilised and friendly. There are strict codes - partly in how they treat women. Away from the tourist hot spots you will be treated with courtesy and respect.

Not been on the site recently. Work and festive prep taking priority. My E Asian plans may have to wait a few years until I am free from work but plan to take 6 months out in 3 years to grab a round the World ticket and catch up with friends and relatives scattered across several continents.
I love the idea and traveling out and pottering back especially using suitable transport - mine would be a VW camper for preference.
