Another saying is "a rolling stone gathers no moss" so follow that stone it must know the way out🙂obviously don't stand infront of it if its a big un abit of commonsense must be used too🙂

I don't have any trees but my lawn faces north and i have more moss than grass 🙂

That sounded interesting HMcB so I googled it. This is what it said
"The old saying about using moss on a tree to indicate north is not accurate because moss grows completely around some trees. Actually, growth is more lush on the side of the tree facing the south in the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa in the Southern Hemisphere" I didn't know that! 😮 Google has a lot to answer for!!!! 😈😈😈

Knowing how to navigate from tree to tree to get out of a wood instead of up and down a tree Scout might be worth knowing but that wasn't what was on offer ☹. Got your attention though Guys didn't it?!!! 😋😈😈😈

Slightly confused - why would I need to kmnow how to navigate a tree - surely there is up and down. Do I need to know anything else?

Haa! Tree navigation...I thought 'That sounds interesting, can people really find their way by reading the trees?? Maybe the leaves turn towards the sun? Or they grow more on the Eastern side??I'm in!'😀

That's a shame, I once got lost in a forest on the Isle of Arran, could have done with a tree navigation course 😀
