Thanks for the advice Deka ( not sure about the joke though,😀 ) and will definitely try to avoid the cat poo.

I always find February best when there are a few dry days. You will find that the bushes then will spring into life come April May (spring get it?)and be in full flower in the summer. One should be aware however that the poo from the neighbour's cat is still pretty soft at this time of year and therefore you should hose down the soles of your Brashers before walking in the beautiful countryside and effecting the natural nitrogen cycle.

Talking of cutting back your bush, what time of year is best to get trimming

I do, I prune it every year along with the other bushes in my garden.Just wish I had a veranda though. Oh and as well MB I have a front door not hidden by a bush.

Sorry guys, I was out of circulation yesterday but just to put the matter straight, it wasn't heather that scratched my legs but that prickly bush. It's a good job I didn't go head first, I could still be there!
As for Lily's veranda I can't wait to go to Ireland and admire it.🙂

Sprite some women pay a fortune to see pics of us in shorts. Miss Babs sneeked up at the end of the ride just to admire our pins.

I think it's time we saw some photographic evidence of these shorts given the excitement they create 🙂
