Remembrance Day Weekend in Lakes November
In case you haven't spotted it, I have posted an invitation for the Remembrance day weekend in November.
This will be based at the YHA in Borrowdale although B&Bs are also available.
The polan will be to meet up Friday night (or Saturday morning).
We will do a walk on Saturday. We will probably have a couple of options.
A get together Saturday evening and an early start on Sunday morning to get to the top of Great Gable before 1100 in time for the service.
This year I am giving plenty of notice and hope that we can accommodate as many as are interested in partaking.
There will be a number of walk leaders so that we can have reasonable size groups to keep everybody safe.

Christine9421 A polan is a small white furry creature native of the Arctic and was introduced to the Lake District several years ago as was, the grey squirrel. They look very similar to a ferret and Yorkshire men have been known to put them down their trousers when walking the fells to keep their bits warm.
Anybody still thinking about joining us please try and decide soon before everywhere is full.
If you have any questions , doubts, need clarification, hand holding etc then just drop me a line, either here or via email.
Hi just noticed Tinks has pointed out that theer are two beds available in a ladies room for the weekend.
I am pretty certain that means two more ladies.๐
Youth Hostel must be getting pretty full now, so if you wish to come along then contact the YH and get your name down.
Will do Trekkie ๐
I did notice that you can book a room for two for ยฃ25 per night. less discount if you are a member so it comes to ยฃ9.50 per person per night just for the room. ยฃ38 for two people for two nights,,, might sell the house and live there.... a steal
Hi Tinkerbell, I have booked a room - have messaged you to explain. It is for me and someone who is not on the site but am not sure if she will be coming or not.

Me too
In 1999 I was on Anapurna on Remembrance day with a lady who survived the war because her family hid her under the stairs as a baby. Her little brother and father died but she survived. We stood on the mountain as she remembered them. Very humbling
It's a long way off but I'll express an interest now<img src='theme/emoticon_smile.png' /><img src='theme/emoticon_smile.png' />
