Hi everyone i have been reading all comments and looking at some photographs in the past couple of weeks putting photographs of family members on the site should be left to facebook but that's just my opinion this site has evolved since i have been on its over a year now i accidentally deleted all my photographs i was pondering to put them back on again and some of those were a bit strange one thing to remember this is a semi dating and activity site for like minded people who enjoy the great outdoors which is far removed from facebook we should remember that healthy debating on this point is a good idea keep smiling everyone😀😀😀

Also i think people are checking in regularly just to see who hasnt got the point and or to have a rant as well. Either way its a good debate and some good ideas to take away my pain have come out 😉

FTG i wouldnt be so rude as to single people out and as i said in my initial post people are entitled to post both comments and pictures as they see fit. My initial blue touch paper of a thread was to hopefully make people think a little more carefully about the quantity, content and quality of the material they post. 😉

With you SteveH. After all it's easy to just ignore the photos that don't interest you, it's not like anyone's putting up offensive material.

In that case, a point of etiquette. Should posted pictures only be from recent OD events? Or are recent photos from activities extra-OD acceptable?

Scenic photos i can do, no problem, as long as theyre sharp, adopt the rule of thirds, are at an ISO setting suitable for the conditions and have been taken with a polarizing filter. Group shots however should be clear and have subjects easily identifiable or else they should be banished to 'Facebook', all other shots should be for private viewing only. 😋 😉

Perhaps the folder system for organising posted pics would help your good pressure if site admin could implement it 🙂

Surely this is a social networking site par excellence, surely there's room for a bit of everything. Personally I haven't got into the habit of posting photos on OD yet but my FB page is full of scenic pics and sunrises...
