Manchester Ale Trail
After the success of the Real Ail Trail posted by Paul I found a couple of articles referring to what basically amounts to an Ale pub crawl around Manchester in two parts or more. One around Castleton area and Central and one around Northern quarter and Central.
Anyone Game???!!! ๐
Not being an Ale drinker. Not sure I should try and lead it but would be interested in tagging along for a laugh especially if Blueray were going! ๐๐

oh yes the code๐๐๐
hi did someone mention ale๐๐๐
interesting๐๐๐๐
Pear Drop (Sarah): Not to sure about that, the Oldham in me may escape at an accelerated rate!! And you know how I like to keep it subdued๐
RuthieA: I'm relying on you to have a drink for me in every pub ๐๐
Deffo Vonnie๐
๐๐๐๐๐
Yeah Chris's Angels ๐lol
๐๐๐
Notice the boys have gone very quiet! ๐ค๐ค
This could be an all girl affair at this point! Except for Stargazer. Hey Chris we could duplicate Mattsmyname's photo from Mallorca! ๐๐๐๐
I second that Claudette. It will be very strange being on an OD pub crawl without Pear Drop (Sarah):
Pear Drop (Sarah): โนโนโน
Everybody is so busy but we can always do the second part in the Autumn!
Vonnie: Manchester's your second home now isn't it Vonnie? ๐
Can't do 31 may I will be in skye ๐
๐๐
That dates ok for me Claudette๐
The Alternative route would be starting at Port Street - Port Street Beerhouse, Mother Mac's, The Unicorn, 57 Thomas Street, The castle Hotel, The Smithfield Hotel, The Marble Arch, The Angel, Hare & Hounds and finishing at The Lower Turks Head Shudehill. Eating somewhere close by and still going to Matt & Phreds!!! ๐๐๐
I'm thinking of starting in Castfield at The Wharf, Duke 92, Oxnoble, Knott Bar, The Deansgate, Briton's Protection, Peveril of the Peak, Rain, Circus Tavern, Grey Horse, The Severn Oaks ending (if were that lucky!) at The Bank Mosely Street so we can have a chinese and if there's any energy left on to Matt & Phreds the Jazzs Club just for Stargazer! ๐
Sorry for getting your hopes up 14th June is out โน How about 31st May?
I can't do 14th June (I am in London) and it also clashes with Peak District weekend, there's so much going on isn't there, I hate having to choose, I wanna do everything!!!! ๐๐๐
Go for it Claudette ๐
I hope I'm the last man standing again....roll on the 14th๐
How does 14th June for this crazy event sound?
Frankie: Certainly will do Frankie - about time us girls got together for a good ole catch up ๐๐
If a date gets set Claudette text me. I keep getting lost in the forums & invites. So much going on.
The code my ****! ๐๐๐๐
Deka: Yes Deka cask ale rules ๐
What's all this about cocktail bars? An ale trail is all about going to proper pubs like the Marble Arch and the Angel with excellant cask ale.
Blue John: read a good review for a new cocktail bar!!
Frankie: it certainly would dear! ๐๐
It wd b rude not to indulge. Dates depending & bed for the nite. X
Blue John: As girls we can multi task so who knows?!! Wouldn't be the same without you Lisa ๐
we North West girls gotta stick together Eddie! ๐
Hmmm....my ears are burning....did someone mention cocktails?!
I'd be up for this. May/June would be good for me ๐
Are we talking the real cocktail trail then TMiW ๐
Stargazer : Oh Dear indeed!!! ๐๐๐
Oh dear! the Jazz Club Matt & Phred serves cocktails๐
Count me in please if dates are suiting but il keep watching ๐
Ok, I have a chance then of being able to play out with everyone ๐
thanks TMW, enjoy your orienteering ๐
morningdawn: I'm doing the orienteering at Lyme Park โน
I think we're looking more like June/July/August!
I'm only free Sat 29th March, is that too soon, sorry no free Saturday's in April โน
No rota after end of April as of yet
But don't worry, just choose when best for the majority. I'm sure if I miss out, there will be other times ๐
morningdawn: I think so too! ๐ What days are best for you?
RuthieA: Thats what I was thinking ๐ค๐ค
That's Easter Saturday. Fine for me but some may be away..... ๐
How about Saturday 19th April? I think the next free dates are end of June beginning of July๐ฎ
๐
The Mind is Willing: Would be rude not too, with me being a Manchester Lass ๐
Wouldn't want to miss it!! Count me in.
I could be up for this one !!!
I guess everyone interested would have to decide on a date that suits all which is looking pretty tricky at the moment!!!!
yanksee: we still have to walk to each and every pub!!! ๐๐๐
Jazz club, this just gets better and better!! ๐๐
The Mind is Willing: Claudette, love the idea of Chinatown and then a couple more pubs on the stagger back to YHA....An inspired plan๐๐
Jules13: I do indeed! And no I haven't had a drink - yet! ๐๐๐
Now my sense of direction in the Countryside may be suspect but usually cities are OK probably cos there are more landmarks like tea shops and bars!!! ๐๐
Jules13: I do indeed! And no I haven't had a drink - yet! ๐๐๐
Sounds like a plan Claudette!!๐
Lisa wouldn't need cocktails as well Chris!!!! ๐๐
Perhaps girls we could discuss tactics at Wastwater ๐
Reading through the list of the Castleton leg there are 15 pubs!!! ๐ค๐ค I doubt we could do all of them in one day But it is possible we could do half and end up in Chinatown Sarah then if we're not too late, pick up another couple on the walk back to the YHA if people were thinking of staying over?
I,m game!!๐๐
Maybe supper in Chinatown? Sounds like a winner Claudette ๐๐
I know a great place for cocktails too๐
This may also suit Blueray๐
