The Mendip challenge

Hi everyone just completed the Mendip challenge. 30 miles in one day. It is my second time I'm taking part in this event. The weather was horrendous very hot. About the 20 miles. Severe cramp crept in on Cook peak. I literally collapsed. When I lay they'flat on my back. I must not let people down. What made it even worse I know what was coming head of me. The steep descent down from Crooks peak. Then onto the Roman Road which. In my mind is one of the hardest bits of all. But there was flat on my back. But then thought of Od started to run through my head. All the friends I have made. Not all those adventures we have been on. Then a couple walking down from Cook peak did know them from Adam.

Great stuff Minty - you're a star! So glad that it was OD that gave you some of that final inspiration! 🙂🙂🙂

Proud of you my friend, reading your challenge brought back fond memories of Hadrian's Wall trip we all did. Knew you would complete this challenge too. Who knows like JW, may be a few other OD's will want to join you next year. 🙂

JW: strangely enough I was thinking along the same Lines. Being the walk is on a Sunday having a long weekend. Using same campsite as we did for the Mendip weekend. Plus it only cost ?12 to enter this year. Plus I will enjoy the company with my Od friends. Watch this space.😋😋😋

minty: Very well done. I am proud of your achievement, under some difficult conditions.
But hey, you don't want a boring thirty miles, do you?

Get up and finish this. Looking at these two in quite a lot of pain. I realise why I was doing this. For those who are suffering from cancer and who are in remission like myself. To give them hope. There is a sign it's not the miles but the journey. I've been given a second chance in life outdoor duo and help me. Find new aspirations and made new friends. So thank you for Reading
