Cuillin Ridge- mid May 2018
Having done some serious scrambling in Glen Coe in 2017, I'm keen to do this challenge in May this year. I'm looking for one other experienced scrambler to possibly join me in an organised group run by Mountain and Sea guides, based in Applecross, who offer a fully supported trip.
Any thoughts?

I've done it over two days with a bivvie on Sg?rr a' Mhadaidh. Bailed on a one day attempt out of Glen Brittle. In retrospect I'd bivvie on Garbh Bheinn the night before, taking maybe only a sleeping and bivvie bag, then go for it at first light. Navigation is tricky in places. You should be confident soloing Diff otherwise it will take too long e.g. soloing Inn Pinn saves a LOT of time. HTH.

Have done this independently. Met a couple of guys on my way , who had paid a company to take them up to do the whole thing, in one day?! I wouldn't recommend that. It's worth taking it easy over a couple of days, as mentioned above. beautiful views if you are lucky with the weather. If you have a head for heights and love scrambling, you'll be awesome! It's something I'd love to do but not sure I'm skilled enough. I've done some climbing and have rope skills but no knowledge of the Cuillin ridge Chat to you on the ski trip? x
Hi Lizzie. I would certainly be very interested in an opportunity to go there. I didn't initially respond as, from my limited knowledge of the route, I had assumed (and Stephen has confirmed!) that there are sections well outside my experience. However, if you do end up doing something less ambitious than a complete traverse that would be of interest, if you would put up with me!
I would also like to do the main Cuillin ridge, but not this year. May is definitely the best month in terms of weather, and the midges should be less of an issue than later in the year.
I assume you would be aiming to do a two-day traverse with an overnight bivvi high on the ridge? Personally, I would want to do have already done a lot of the route previously on day walks; I have scrambled some sections of the main ridge, but none of the harder parts. Even with hiring a guide, I wouldn't advise anyone to attempt the full ridge without some prior knowledge of the route, unless you have rock climbing experience or are a very good scrambler! I would also want near-perfect weather.
