Sorry Dale, I wasn't sure if you were being serious or just playing along - I thought what you wrote on 04/04/20 @ 10:21 suggested the latter. 🙂
Thanks Dale for your efforts to stave off our boredom and raise the tone of the site with some poetry about the great outdoors that we are missing.
Ok forget the rules, I’m bored with it now. Off you go and play boys and if you get too naughty I believe Steve will step in and rap your knuckles
(CD is either very brave, or he wasn't joking about his memory! 😂 I also had an a line in mind, albeit a more risky one, but I didn't have the nerve ... 😮. In which anthology are you intending to publish this masterpiece, Dale? 🤔)
would you like to come and play?
So...... they looked at me as if to say .......
😮🤔 I'm sure I don't know what you mean ... 😇
M1960 THINK THATS ONLY YOU!!! Please note, I said nothing offensive, please please read the rules
Perhaps you should rename this poem 'OD (Obscene Dating)'? 😮
🙄🙄 that’s rolling eyes 😀 that’s me smiling
Oops, sorry D.....
my memory is not what it used to, used to ....
😮😂😂
(If anyone is struggling for ideas, remember that 'mate' rhymes with 'date' and with 'fornicate'.🙂)
(Never mind, CD - as you can see, I'm in the doghouse too for the same offence! ☹)
Back to the poem....
Carpe we are only allowed one line each, please check the original rules at the top of the thread 🤨🤨
your bits are looking in disarray
They looked at me as if to say ...
As they nibbled on discarded peelings..
but both respected each others' feelings...
he looked pleased at her encroaching ...
😂
The swan then saw her mate approaching....
Sorry 🤔
Remember the original rules, only one line each please. Ok, back to the poem .....
but thinking about producing a daughter
Not looking swan like, like it oughta.
and the swan was looking rather coy
the sun rose o'er the shimmering water
I approached quietly and with some joy as
Ok Miss T, my morning walk was around and about the River Tees so I have uploaded a series of 5 photos as inspiration for our next poem. Let’s go back to the original rules and start again.
Maybe we could let it run until it exhausts itself. Maybe there will be time for more contributors ( maybe not but let’s watch and wait )
The poem is entitled:
THE SWAN AND HIS MATE
Dale...please can we have a new poem?🙂
Think I’ll join you - need one! Cheers!!!!!!😀
Then went t'pub for several beers!!!!🙂
I stooped to pick some mermaids tears
Damned seaweed tangled round my feet ...
To walk unhindered I do beseech!!
New poem....6 lines max!
Alone I stood upon the beach....
That she was beautiful in every way !
Until once more he spies
That brings their love to swift demise.
Her golden locks are turning grey
Or is it just his sweaty feet?
Their perfume fills the air, so sweet...
While he thinks of her meat pies,
The sunshine of the daffodils, in her eyes
