A JUST INSPIRATION... Pt.1

Nature is a trendy adventuress!
Bewildering in her complexity,
dazzling in her wizardry,
on such glorious mornings as this
she undeniably comes into her own;
rich, raw and rustic,
bursting with flair,
her energy and incessant charm
radiate hope
as she squeezes her juices over the earth

As I stroll through Styal Woods,
I am aware of all this;
even the shadows seem co-ordinated,
as sharp tatters of sunlight
wink down knowingly

Those trees stretch towards the Wood's roof,
exercising their limbs,
branches with reaching arms
like long-fingered hands,
maze-like in their randomness,
harp-shaped, heart-shaped,
so gracefully rugged,
writhing, interlacing, stalking,
rampant;
with seen-it-all trunks
showing a ferocious resistance to change

These gently swaying sentries
listen, like me,
to the birdsong;
fresh, yet familiar,
like so much else here,
singing their messages of joyful, rhapsodic support
