Walking on ice

Just received an e mail from Mountain Warehouse about their new boot soles for ice. Apparently they are impregnated with glass (great for your prquet floor) and claim to be 6 time more effective on ice than standard soles. Anyone had any experience with these and do they work? I find microspikes a pain to take on and off, especially when your fingers are numb.

Lazlo Woodbine: look on google for Supatracks studs. There are many cheap ones on eBay to try on an old pair of boots for personal preference / suitability.

Leave the ice and cross the rocks and ... crunch crunch ... instant ordinary boots for twice the price 😀

Have you tried the chains. Bit of a knack to taking on and off but very effective.

Hi Doug , I can't believe that with your background you would even consider buying boots with soles impregnated with something as soft as glass for improved grip on ice. Scandinavian tyres use tungsten studs 🍎🍏🍺
