Is it me or does the UK map look like a sideways-on creature to anyone? Every time i look and whenever i think about places in the UK to visit etc. the same image re-emerges.
So, there’s the head..which is Scotland and a beard which is Arran.The curved neck is Borders/Northumberlnd and just below it a dog collar could easily be applied between Carlisle and Newcastle. Then the Lakes emerges as bumpy protruding bit. Co. Durham & Yorkshire are the expansive chest and Wales is a stubby arm. Cheltenham&Gloucester might be a bit hairy under there. The Midlands is the flat tummy bit and this creature is quite proud of that. Devon&Cornwall are the leg, London and the home counties are the bowels..with the Dartford Crossing being the **sehole of the creature.The Medway area is the tail,with a rounded end which is Margate.
The spine runs down from Berwick-on -Tweed. So far this year i’ve visited the head once, soon to go again, the chest a few times, and the bumpy bit twice. I’m soon to visit the leg too😁 #insomniacramblingsagain#
